‘Happiness is not something ready made.
It comes from your own actions.’
Isn’t it interesting that we have control over our happiness,
yet so many of us are unhappy?
It is natural to have reactions to current life situations-
whether they be positive or negative, but we do have the opportunity
to push negativity aside and seek out happiness in all situations if you just try.
Here are some ideas for how you can create happiness through actions.
Wake up every morning and list three things you are thankful for.
Often times we are quick to focus on what is going wrong in our lives
versus all of the blessings we already have present daily.
To expand on this, do the same thing at the end of your day.
Reflect back on what GOOD happened as a result of the day
and share that good with someone you love.
Do something you love every day, even if it is only for five minutes.
Think for a second of something that immediately puts you at ease
or creates a smile on your face.
THAT! That right there, do THAT!
Have your few minutes of “me time” regardless of what it is and how long it is.
Positive Self Talk.
Speak to and about your body and self as it deserves to be happy.
Your self image can be dangerously destroyed if you allow negative self talk
to take over your mind.
Push out the negative thought and immediately replace it with two positive thoughts.
Lend a Helping Hand
Helping others always feels good…. and watching someone receive
help is always more rewarding than receiving it yourself.
Think of small ways you can make a difference in your house,
neighborhood, job, and/or community.
Be in the moment.
Make it happen.
“Without action you aren’t going anywhere.”
If you want something, go for it.
If you don’t like something, change it.
If you aren’t able to change it, change your attitude.
Be persistent in your goals and your desires.
We are all human.
We make mistakes, and we will continue to make mistakes.
It is important to remember that this is natural, and that we need to recognize
that if someone makes a mistake or hurts you it isn’t always intentional,
just like you have probably made mistakes or hurt others unintentionally.
The more unnecessary negativity and conflict you allow into your life
the less happiness you will see.
Continue to Grow and Evolve.
We are all a work in progress and that is what makes us beautiful.
There are things that we can continue to work on regardless of our age
and why wouldn’t you want to get stronger, faster, smarter, better?
If the world did not continue to evolve we would not see some of
the most beautiful products of nature.
